A cardiac stabilizer system (also called a beating-heart stabilizer, tissue stabilizer, or surgical stabilization device) is a surgical tool used primarily in off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB or “beating-heart” surgery). It locally immobilizes a portion of the moving heart so surgeons can perform precise anastomoses without stopping the heart or using cardiopulmonary bypass.
